Set in a bygone era in the coastal city of Goa, the film explores a powerful criminal underworld operating against the backdrop of the decline of Portuguese rule. Raya rises through betrayal, violence and ambition to establish his position within the underworld, only to discover that the pursuit of power comes with a devastating price. The film combines period drama, crime, action and morally complex characters within a dark and stylised world.
